Driver Training / Driver Licensing


Charter Transport provides services to the public / commercial sector, for those who wish to be trained and assesed for driving all heavy motor vehicles.

Charter Transport has two qualified assesors. Charter supports The NZ Transport Agency and Tranzqual ITO (Industry Training Organisation). There are a number of ways that Charter Transport can offer you a service.

Charter provides driver training, for those who have not driven a heavy motor vehicle for some time and would like to get some practice in again.

For those who wish to get some experience in certain areas, like operating a road ranger gearbox, towing a B-Train trailer unit or practicing to reverse a truck and trailer unit.

Charter can provide full driver assessments for classes 2 through to 5 for anyone wishing to obtain their heavy motor vehicle licenses. This consists driving lessons, in-class theory training in conjunction with study guides and workbooks theory and practical assessment.

Assist in obtaining Dangerous Goods (hazardous) Endorsement.

Can provide unit standard qualifications within the Transport Industry. These include up to 23 units, such as:
- Operating side mounted lifter
- Demonstrate dynamics and safe handling
- Knowledge of fatigue management, worktime and driver log book
- Operate truck mounted load lifting equipment
